Five Points in an Afternoon
A walkable half-day in Jacksonville's Five Points — coffee, vintage racks, records, a fresh tattoo, and a beer under the oaks, all within a few blocks.
Five Points is Jacksonville’s bohemian heart — a compact knot of independent shops, cafes, and bars where Park, Margaret, and Lomax streets meet, all shaded by enormous live oaks. It’s the rare Jacksonville neighborhood built for walking, which makes it the perfect afternoon. Here’s a loop that hits the best of it.
Start with coffee
Begin at Bold Bean Coffee Roasters on Stockton Street, a few blocks off the intersection. Bold Bean helped kick off Jacksonville’s specialty-coffee scene back in 2011, and the Riverside cafe is still its flagship — grab a cortado and a window seat before the browsing starts.
Work the shops
Head into the Five Points core and take your time. 5 Points Vintage on Park Street is a curated rack of vintage clothing that turns over constantly, and just up Stockton, Tiger Records is the neighborhood’s independent record shop — new and used vinyl for collectors and first-time crate-diggers alike. This is the densest independent-retail stretch in the city, so wander.
Get some ink (or just watch)
Five Points has long been a tattoo destination. Cleopatra Ink on Park Street is well-reviewed for custom work — walk in to browse flash or book ahead if you’re serious.
End with a beer
Close the loop with a pint. BREW Five Points sits right on the Park Street corner — espresso by day, local taps by night, with a patio that anchors the district. If you want to keep the Ale Trail going, Bold City Brewery is a short hop away in the Rosselle Street warehouse pocket.
Everything here is locally owned — no chains — so every stop puts your afternoon back into the neighborhood.
